Food Security & Livelihoods

Helping households grow more food, earn an income and recover after shocks like flooding.

Food Security & Livelihoods

Programme overview

Food Security & Livelihoods

No one should go to bed hungry. In Northern Bahr el Ghazal, many households depend on small-scale farming that is easily wiped out by floods, dry spells or displacement.

YAAP supports families, women and young farmers with seeds, tools and practical training in crop and vegetable production. Kitchen gardens close to the homestead give families fresh food through the year and a little produce to sell.

We also help young people start small businesses, so that a household has more than one way to earn a living when the harvest fails.
